Day Trading Bulletin Boards

Caveat

It's an unfortunate fact of life, but in online forums and in chat rooms people do not behave professionally unless the conversation is heavily moderated. I'm sure you've seen plenty of forums where the conversation just becomes ":how much can I insult the other person.":

It shouldn't have to be like this, but people seem very prone to say things they would never say in person online.

Also, I've noticed there are a lot of beginners on the trading bulletin boards. This isn't a problem, unless they masqueraded as if they are experts and start handing out advice to other beginners. Yes, that happens all the time.

The boards are full of people who can't trade. They live on the forum posting multiple replies every day. Real traders are too busy working and trading for that.

To make matters worse these supposed traders have very large egos. With such large egos, many times they get sidetracked from the whole objective (trading), and the discussion become a saving face operation, which wastes everyone's time.

However, even with all those negatives, there are still reasons to visit the forums and chat rooms. There are usually some experienced traders that hang out and post infrequently. You can learn a lot from these people.

Some Boards

Not all of the boards below are dedicated to day trading forex, but they certainly have discussion on it.

Moneytec.com (opens a new window). This is a very heavily visited board. Lots of previous posts to read. Very informative. Also, it's amusing when a scammer joins the board and tries to sell his Holy Grail system. Watching the experienced traders rip him/her up is great fun. To post and all that, you do have to join.

Trade2win.com (opens a new window). This community has more than 55,000 members. Naturally, it's free to join. It has chat rooms and forums about all kinds of trading and all lengths of trading times.

OandA.com's bulletin boards (opens a new window). I my opinion this is one of the most professional trading forums online.

WoodiesCCIclub.com (opens a new window). These chat rooms are totally dedicated to the way Ken Wood trades the CCI indicator. There is a lot of information for you to learn to trade it like they do. Then you can join and pay to get into the chat rooms where they trade live and a moderator is calling out trade signals. Interesting, they say that Ken Wood (known as Woodie) doesn't make anything off of the website. The cost to join the chat room is just to cover their costs. Also they are very stick about not allowing anything other than trading to enter the discussion.

There you go. Go learn a lot.
