The Best Foreign Exchange Broker in Switzerland

So you want a Swiss broker? I personally think one of the best retail forex brokers is OandA.com. However, they are not strictly in Switzerland. They also have offices in New York and Toronto besides their Zurich.

But suppose you want at broker only in Switzerland. Then I think your best choice would be Forex.ch. They are based in Geneva.

OandA vs. Forex.ch

OandA is a much larger broker. I'm also in favor of the fact that they won't let you trade with more than 50:1 margin. Beginner traders want to use obscene amounts of margin. Then they blow their accounts. Their brokers smile happily as they collect the money. OandA isn't like that. They are truly a trader friendly company.

OandA also lets you trade an account smaller than a mini. This lets you safely trade a several hundred dollar account as you learn the ropes.

In Forex.ch favor, they are regulated by Federal Department of Finance of Switzerland. There website is devoid of hype. Forex.ch is probably a better choice for you if you live in Europe.

Negatives

Something that is often brought up as a negative against OandA is the fact that there spread widens during times of wild price moves or low volatility. However, I think this is really a good thing.

They are transparently showing you what their price is. There is no fear of them shade pips like another broker who guarantees 2 pip spreads no matter what.

Two other strikes against them are you can't use MetaTrader with them and that there charts aren't the best. True, their charts aren't the fanciest. I guess it depends what you need for your trading.

It's is inconvenient that you can't use MetaTrader with them. But then again, I guess it's like the old saying, you can't have your cake and eat it too (whatever that means!).

A negative against Forex.ch depends on where you live. I already mentioned that it seems better suited to European traders. That's a definite negative if you live in North America. Also they just aren't as well known as other brokers.

And the Winner Is . . .

I'd pick OandA (I figure you already guessed that), unless you live in Europe. OandA's got a reputation, and it's all good. You can't go wrong with them (and no I don't make any money by this endorsement). :-)
